Technical requirements:
-installed DirectX 5.0 or higher (found in the directx folder on this disk)
-at least 24 MB RAM memory
-at least Pentium CPU 90 Mhz for 800x600 pixel resolution
-at least Pentium CPU 200 Mhz for 1024x768 pixel resolution
-SVGA-card with 2 MB memory buffer at least

To install, run the K&M-SETUP program on this disk and follow the on-screen
instructions.

From the Program Folder "Knights and Merchants -Demo", you can then
choose either 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution. The demo version of K&M
is somewhat limited in functionality. But the full version, which we 
will release in October 1998, will offer over 25 different buildings,
a vast variety of military units and a host of other surprises.
There will be a total of 20 single-player and 10 multi-players maps
as well as some pure battle maps.  

A series of movie scenes will tell the complete story as it unfolds, 
while save and pause functions will put you in total control of the action!

Keyboard shortcuts:

1-4	Direct menu selections (Construction, Distribution, Overview, Settings)
Space/Esc		Cancel command/menu 
S			Dispatch soldiers
H			Halt soldiers
A			Attack
V			Arrange soldiers into groups  (group-up)

Use the right mouse button to send or attack.

You can get more in-depth game descriptions in the demo level.  
They'll be sent to you in the form of short dispatches.  We wish you hours
